| 内容記述 | This paper discusses aspects involving verb-resultative complement (VR) compounds in Mandavin chinese. On many occasion, VR compounds are used in perfective situations with the perfective suffix – le（了）, but never occur with the continuous suffix – zhe（着）. And some VR compounds can co-occur with the progressive form zai/zhengzai（在／正在）, while the others can not.In this paper, I provide an analysis for such phenomena that concern occurrence of aspect forms in VR compounds: the inherent aspectual properties of VR compounds would restrict aspect forms that VRs can use. If a VR compound takes a [+degree] property, because it has degree to achieve the endpoint, then this can be used in the progressive. | |||||
