| 内容記述 | 2022年度から高等学校で必履修科目となる「地理総合」では，GIS（地理情報システム）を活用した授業の実施が注目を集めている。限りある授業時間の中でGISの操作方法を身に付け，適切な手法に基づいて地理情報を処理し，対象とする現象の地域分析までをこなすためには様々な工夫が必要となる。「地理総合」に盛り込まれている生活圏を対象とした地域調査の中で，Web GISを利用した主題図を作成し，地域分析を行うことが具体的な運用方法として考えられる。学校現場におけるICTの利活用が進み，GISを授業に取り入れることは容易となった。手軽に地図を操作できるWeb GISは，地図表現に関わるルールを意識することなく地図を作成することができるため，教員側の認識によっては誤った地図表現を生徒に教えてしまうことになりかねない。適切な手法に基づいた地図作成と地域分析の手法を，地理を専門としない教員や，教職課程を履修する学生に向けて提示していくことが「地理総合」ひいては地理教育の充実を考える上で重要になる。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | From 2022, “geography” will be a compulsory subject in high school. In geography lessons, it is expected to perform regional analysis using a Geographic Information System（GIS）. Teachers who are not geographic experts and trainee teachers（students in a teacher training course） need to learn how to use geographic information systems. One of the effective means to solve this problem is to use Web GIS that can be operated on the Internet. Web GIS is easy to operate. Therefore, if the teacher does not pay attention to the rules regarding map representation, there is a high possibility that an incorrect map（without orientation and scale, choropleth maps showing absolute values, etc） will be created. It is essential not only to give lectures on how to operate GIS to teachers and trainee teachers, but also to disseminate appropriate methods for expressing maps. | |||||
