| 内容記述 | Fernán González, son of Gonzalo Fernández, count of Arlanza and the Duero, was born in the first years of the ninth century near Burgos and died in 970. This legendary count of Castile grew up in the castle of Lara. Defying Ramiro II of Leon and Sancho II of Navarre and fighting Muslims in the midst of Reconquista, he established, despite being imprisoned twice, the foundations for an independent Castile, which, during his time, was only a frontier of the kingdom of Leon. He died after living a turbulent life, and his remains were buried in the monastery of San Pedro de Arlanza, which he himself had founded. The poem of Fernán González was written between 1250 and 1271 in the erudite form of cuaderna vía （four-fold way）. Its style has been called mester de clerecía （scholars’ art） as compared with mester de juglaría（ minstrels’ art）. This time translation is made from strophe 405 to the 605. |
