| 内容記述 | To date it has been thought that two sets of documents written by N. P. Rezanov at the beginning of the 19th century were a record of the Ishinomaki dialect prevalent in the area around Sendai, due to the fact that the person who taught Japanese to Rezanov ? the castaway Zenroku ? was from Ishinomaki itself. However, a consideration of historical materials that shed light upon the process by which, and the conditions under which the Rezanov documents were produced makes it clear this conclusion cannot be drawn with as much confidence as has heretofore been assumed. Through his use of texts published in Japanese, as well as by means of his association in Irkutsk with castaways from Ise Province, it is conceivable that Zenroku had acquired some degree of fluency in a more standard form of Japanese. As a result, we must keep in mind the possibility that the Rezanov documents may not be straightforward historical records of the Ishinomaki dialect, but rather records of Japanese as used by a speaker that dialect who nevertheless would have had more standard Japanese in mind while teaching. | |||||
