| 内容記述 | The Libro de Alexandre is a great epic poem that consists of 10700 lines and was supposedly written in the first third of the thirteenth century. This poem is not an ordinary biography of Alexander the Great, because the story is interrupted by many diverse episodes such as that of the Trojan war which took place about 1200 years B.C. according to historians, and that of the Old Testament. Alexander the Great is a personage of the fourth century B.C. and this poem is written in the thirteenth century AD. So, in this work by an unknown author, perhaps a cleric, a mixture of ages is seen everywhere and that is the most remarkable characteristic of this epic poem. This work is written in the erudite form of cuaderna vía （four-fold way）, the style of which has been called the mester de clerecía（ scholars’ art） as compared with the mester de juglaría（ minstrels’ art）. This translation covers from the strophe 803 to 1001. | |||||||||
