This paper serves as the basis for discussing the background of this phenomenon, yet it does not adopt conventional methods of conducting a field study or collecting archival materials. Rather, two settings were selected to examine how information on Japanese shrines has been circulated, shared and consumed. The first setting consists of activities to promote Japanese culture and international exchange as well as dissemination of information on Japan through commercial facilities and tourism magazines featuring the country. Under such circumstances, shrines are not captured in a historical context but instead described as a symbol of Japanese culture. The second setting comprises social networks such as Facebook groups whose purpose is to discuss Japanese history and where images and information on Japanese colonial rule are shared. These groups, however, go beyond examining information of the past ; they also talk about Japanese rites and rituals currently performed in Taiwan. Moreover, they use the knowledge they have acquired by participating in such ceremonies to search for images from the era. This indicates a tendency to commingle the images of modern Japan and old Japan when it occupied Taiwan. On Facebook, the reconstruction of shrines has been discussed in reference to multiculturalism. This concept came into use to balance the interests of numerous tribes amid the Taiwanese localization movement after the state’s democratization, and the term has been used in those discussions on the social network. The reconstruction of shrines itself is in question because some people associate them with the historical legacy of forced religion. Whether Taiwanese people will move forward with shrine reconstruction is yet unknown, but some small\nshrines have been rebuilt. Their views on Japanese culture introduced here may underlie this phenomenon.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_3_description_40":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_description":"Article","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_3_description_5":{"attribute_name":"内容記述","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_description":"論文","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_3_publisher_33":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"神奈川大学日本常民文化研究所 非文字資料研究センター"}]},"item_3_source_id_10":{"attribute_name":"書誌レコードID","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AA12776889","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_3_source_id_8":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"2432-5481","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_3_version_type_16":{"attribute_name":"著者版フラグ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_version_resource":"http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85","subitem_version_type":"VoR"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"武知, 正晃"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Takechi, Masaaki"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2018-11-20"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"13-05.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"2.7 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"13-05.pdf","url":"https://kanagawa-u.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/8273/files/13-05.pdf"},"version_id":"efd91774-2377-49e3-acca-b17c94508637"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"jpn"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"台湾における日本時代の建築物を見る眼差し -近年なぜ神社の「復興」が目立つのか-","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"台湾における日本時代の建築物を見る眼差し -近年なぜ神社の「復興」が目立つのか-"}]},"item_type_id":"3","owner":"1","path":["677"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2017-05-25"},"publish_date":"2017-05-25","publish_status":"0","recid":"8273","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["台湾における日本時代の建築物を見る眼差し -近年なぜ神社の「復興」が目立つのか-"],"weko_creator_id":"1","weko_shared_id":1},"updated":"2023-05-15T15:53:41.802546+00:00"}
