| 内容記述 | この論文では，太平洋戦争末期に『朝日新聞』紙上に連載された新聞小説である，火野葦平「陸軍」をとりあげる。『陸軍』先行研究においては，単行本の印刷日が太平洋戦争終戦日（1945年8月15日）であったことへ論及が集中したほか，日本の近代史・陸軍の歴史を高木家の視座から描いた物語としての要約（記述）が大部分を占めるという状況にとどまっている。そればかりか，『陸軍』に関しては，書誌情報すら，現物を確認したとは思えないほどにミスが多い。しかし，『陸軍』は，太平洋戦争末期の新聞に1年弱にわたり連載され，多くの読者（国民）の目に触れるものであった以上，狭義の文学領域にとどまらない範囲で意味作用を果たした，重要な作品だといえる。そこで本稿では，『陸軍』研究のスタートラインを引くために，新聞紙上の初出掲載状況や単行本との異同の確認，同時代受容の様相まで調査・整理を進め，研究基盤の整序を目指した。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | This paper focuses on Ashihei Hinoʼs Rikugun（「陸軍」, “Imperial Japanese Army”）, a newspaper novel serialized in the Asahi Shimbun at the end of the Pacific War （1943―44）. Previous studies of Rikugun have mainly focused on the fact that the book was published on August 15, 1945―the day the Pacific War ended―and have treated the work as a summary or portrayal of Japanʼs modern and military history from the perspective of the Takagi family. In addition, even the bibliographic information on Rikugun is riddled with errors, raising doubts as to whether researchers have actually examined the text. However, since Rikugun was serialized in a major newspaper for nearly a year and reached a wide readership at a pivotal historical moment, it can be considered a culturally significant work. Therefore, in this paper, in order to initiate research on Rikugun, we investigate and organize the details of its original newspaper serialization, identify its differences from the book version, and examine how it was received at the time, with the aim of establishing a foundation for further study. |
