| 内容記述 | The purpose of this study was to examine the current recognition of bullying from the perspective of its impact on students and to present a vision for its elimination. Behind the record number of bullying cases recognized in 2023 is the problem of recognition due to the defined of “pain” by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. This definition of “pain” includes “death,” which is problematic. The problem is that death has become an option for victims as a way of expressing their “pain”. One way to resolve this problem is to separate trivial troubles from bullying and use new terms. For example, Imazu (2024) uses “painful and distressing feelings(of a pupil)”. Another way is the discursive practice of separating bullying from “death”. If the “pain” of the victim is linked to “death,” this marks an attempt to transform the “pain” that defines bullying. Here, Sugenoʼs definition(1986) of “discrimination” is used. By using the definition of “discrimination,” the victimʼs choice is not ‘death’ but “prosecution”. If the proposed practice is realized, victims will stop committing suicide due to bullying. This will destroy the social norm that bullying alone can lead to death, and it would no longer be regarded as a social problem. In addition, it could bring relief to the alleged perpetrator students, that is, they would not be labeled as perpetrators of bullying. |
