| 内容記述 | This paper presents a contrastive analysis of nara, a Japanese conditional form, and -tamyen, a Korean conditional form. While prior research has primarily emphasized the similarities between these two forms, the differences between them have received limited attention. This study focuses on the differences between the two forms in expressing a positive epistemic stance toward the antecedent state of affairs in content conditionals. Based on the similarities and differences between nara and -tamyen, this paper argues that, although both share a hypothetical nature, they function at different levels of hypothesizing: nara operates at the situational level, while -tamyen operates at the level of the state of affairs. | |||||||
