This poem is not an ordinary biography of Alexander the Great, because the story is interrupted by many diverse episodes like those of the Troyan war which took place about 1200 years B.C. according to the historians, and those of the Old Testament. Alexander the Great is a personage of the fourth century B.C. and this poem is written in the thirteenth century of A.D.
