These calendars became widely known to the public in the early modern period after doctor⊘author Nankei Tachibana introduced, with illustrations, the 1783 edition of Tayama-goyomi in his book titled ‶Toyuki Kohen.\" Historical figures like Philipp Franz von Siebold and Takeshiro Matsuura also took an interest in the calendar. The entrenched view that Tayama-goyomi were created to help illiterate farmers time their farming activities has persisted since the early modern period, and this view has not changed even in recent studies. Past research on the calendar generally focused on deciphering its rekichu or comparing Tayama-goyomi with another type of egoyomi called Morioka-goyomi, with little attention paid to the process behind Tayama-goyomiʼs development or its original purpose. While a good amount of research materials has been collected, they continue to be used haphazardly for comparative research, and each item has yet to be evaluated properly.  This current study comprehensively gathered information and materials regarding Tayamagoyomi and classified them into six groups based on their origins. By separating the original manuscripts dating back to the early modern period from the rest of the materials, our study was able to show that Tayama-goyomi can be broadly divided into early and late period works based on how rekichu are positioned in the calendar layout. Early period Tayama-goyomi emphasize certain rekichu over other information, while calendars from the later period feature all rekichu arranged by order of dates. Based on this classification, we analyzed the calendars against related materials and gained new insights into the early to late period transitions of Tayama-goyomi, as well as its relationship with Morioka-goyomi.  With regard to the view that Tayama-goyomi were designed to serve as guides for illiterate farmers, our study, through a comparison with Ise-goyomi, shows that information depicted on Tayama-goyomi does not conform to the farming practices in the Tayama area. The way rekichu are placed on the calendars suggests they were strongly connected to belief, especially the folk faith of Koshin, rather than agriculture.  In the early modern period Tayama-goyomi, in particular, Koshin days were indicated prominently so users could understand information on those specific days regardless of their ability to read. This finding calls for a re-evaluation of the view that Tayama-goyomi were created for the illiterate.  The study also highlights some other issues for future research, for example, the role of Eshingyo, or pictorial Heart Sutra, in the development of Tayama-goyomi in connection with the Koshin belief.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_3_description_5":{"attribute_name":"内容記述","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_description":"論文","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_3_publisher_33":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"神奈川大学日本常民文化研究所 非文字資料研究センター"},{"subitem_publisher":"Research Center for Nonwritten Cultural Materials, Institute for the Study of Japanese Folk Culture, Kanagawa University"}]},"item_3_source_id_10":{"attribute_name":"書誌レコードID","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AA12776889","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_3_source_id_8":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"2432-5481","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_3_version_type_16":{"attribute_name":"著者版フラグ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_version_resource":"http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85","subitem_version_type":"VoR"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"太田原, 潤"}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2022-12-21"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"01 田山暦の分類と比較 -絵暦から読み解く生業と信仰-.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"9.9 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"01 田山暦の分類と比較 -絵暦から読み解く生業と信仰-","url":"https://kanagawa-u.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/15264/files/01 田山暦の分類と比較 -絵暦から読み解く生業と信仰-.pdf"},"version_id":"e4506b7a-f98b-4092-a836-ce04a3eab030"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"jpn"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"田山暦の分類と比較 -絵暦から読み解く生業と信仰-","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"田山暦の分類と比較 -絵暦から読み解く生業と信仰-","subitem_title_language":"ja"},{"subitem_title":"Classifying and Comparing Tayama-goyomi : -Subsistence and belief seen through Egoyom(i Pictorial Calendars)-","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"3","owner":"10","path":["1442"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"PubDate","attribute_value":"2022-12-21"},"publish_date":"2022-12-21","publish_status":"0","recid":"15264","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["田山暦の分類と比較 -絵暦から読み解く生業と信仰-"],"weko_creator_id":"10","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-06-20T06:34:59.980845+00:00"}
