Through an examination of academic histories and interviews, this paper will reveal how and by whom the academic term mingu (everyday objects) was brought into Chinese folklore studies as well as how research on mingu and its study field was introduced in China. The focus of this paper is the researcher Ru-lan Wang and her work circa 1980. Around this time, Chinese folklore society had resumed relations with Japanese folklore society to help rebuild Chinese folklore studies. The introduction of Japanese mingu research into China can be traced back in part to the history of Sino-Japanese academic collaboration and exchange. Wang had studied in Japan sometime between 1930 and 1940. A fluent speaker of Japanese, she dedicated herself to rekindling relations between communities involved in Chinese and Japanese folklore studies by serving as an interpreter and translator. In the 1980s, after her second visit to Japan, she presented her translations of Japanese mingu studies and papers introducing this subject to the Chinese folklore society. Her stay in Japan was short, however, and she had limited understanding of mingu research with a ethnological perspective, an approach conducted from the time when the Institute for the Studies of Japanese Folk Culture was called the Attic Museum (hereinafter writed to as the Attic). It should also be noted that she came to Japan at a time when there was a rush of folklore and mingu museum openings. Working with mingu, Wang came to appreciate the importance of tangible folklore materials and was more strongly attracted to the idea of building folklore museums than to advocating specific ways of developing academic mingu research. Sadly, she did not attempt to promote mingu or folklore museums after this time. In the meantime, a growing number of Chinese scholars visited Japan as part of the Chinese folklore society’s efforts to build human resource capabilities at universities, contributing to deeper relations between the folklore societies of the two countries. While few in number, scholars emerged who undertook Japan’s mingu research and produced papers on the topic more detailed than those written by Wang. Improved Sino-Japanese relations also allowed mingu study collaborations within the framework of Japanese culture research.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_3_description_5":{"attribute_name":"内容記述","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_description":"論文","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_3_publisher_33":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"神奈川大学日本常民文化研究所 非文字資料研究センター"},{"subitem_publisher":"Research Center for Nonwritten Cultural Materials, Institute for the Study of Japanese Folk Culture, Kanagawa University"}]},"item_3_source_id_10":{"attribute_name":"書誌レコードID","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AA12776889","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_3_source_id_8":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"2432-5481","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_3_version_type_16":{"attribute_name":"著者版フラグ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_version_resource":"http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85","subitem_version_type":"VoR"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"余, 瑋"}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2022-06-07"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"03 再建と再会 : 学術用語「民具」の中国民俗学界への紹介をめぐって.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"1.0 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"03 再建と再会 : 学術用語「民具」の中国民俗学界への紹介をめぐって","url":"https://kanagawa-u.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/14908/files/03 再建と再会 : 学術用語「民具」の中国民俗学界への紹介をめぐって.pdf"},"version_id":"ce8ac352-227a-4aaf-b858-7a86394dbff0"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"jpn"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"再建と再会 : 学術用語「民具」の中国民俗学界への紹介をめぐって","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"再建と再会 : 学術用語「民具」の中国民俗学界への紹介をめぐって","subitem_title_language":"ja"},{"subitem_title":"Rebuilding and Reunion : Introduction of the Academic Term “Mingu” to the Chinese Folklore Society","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"3","owner":"10","path":["1424"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"PubDate","attribute_value":"2022-06-07"},"publish_date":"2022-06-07","publish_status":"0","recid":"14908","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["再建と再会 : 学術用語「民具」の中国民俗学界への紹介をめぐって"],"weko_creator_id":"10","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-06-20T06:30:04.791942+00:00"}
