| 内容記述 | The aim of this study is to analyze Osamu Dazai’s “Spring Thieves” as a work of fiction, rather than as a biography of the author, as it is widely considered to be. Therefore, in this study, I first examined the past research by dividing it into three types, and clarifying the issues re-lated to each. As an approach to “Spring Thieves,” I have confirmed the narrative of the Osamu Dazai text based on previous research. During this process, I have tried to clarify the self-referential statements and readers' issues in this text, which have been regarded as difficult points in the history of “Spring Thieves” research. I also confirmed the meaning of the text in this article, for future discussions. In the following part, I carefully read “Spring Thieves” as “The story of a thief.” In other words, in this study, I thoroughly read “Spring Thieves” as a text. Finally, I read the ending of “Spring Thieves” and concluded this pa-per. | |||||
