 note = {本論文は、まず海南島の自然環境と漁撈活動を紹介し、海南島の航海が南海での広い範囲で行うことを明らかにした。また、模型を通じて海南島帆船における各部位の命名と利用について述べた。さらに、海南島の航海書―「更路簿」について分析した。「更路簿」は海南島の漁民の重要な航海書であった。その内容は、主に航路と「流水」に関することである。航路については、「更」という道のりが重要であり、船長の経験から船の航速や海流などの影響を把握することが不可欠である。危険な海域の「流水」を日々詳しく記録した理由は、「流水」が操船に大きな影響を与えるからである。方向の判断について、羅針盤だけでは不十分であり、周りの環境から判断することが重要である。最後に、気象予報が発達する以前に、漁民が危険を避けるためにとった気象予測の方法を説明した。 以上のように、本論文ではまず、海南島の伝統的な航海術の活動範囲、船などの背景の説明を行った。次に「更路簿」などの文献資料とフィールドワークの結果から海南島の漁民の伝統的な航海術が豊かな知識と経験をもっていること、特に船長の経験と「勘」が重要であることを指摘した。, This paper begins by discussing the natural environment surrounding the island of Hainan and the island’s fishing activities to demonstrate how marine navigation conducted there covers vast areas of the South China Sea. It uses a model illustration to explain the names and functions of each part of the island fishermen’s sailing vessels. Furthermore, the paper examines the Manual of Sea Routes (Geng Lu Bu), an important sailing chart for the island fishermen that mainly describes the sea routes and ocean currents. As for sea routes, the course is important, and it is imperative for ship captains to understand both ship speed and the impact of the ocean currents based on their experience. The manual also contains detailed records of the daily currents in dangerous waters because of their great impact on ship maneuvering. A compass is insufficient for determining direction, so it is important to make decisions based on the surrounding environment. Finally, the paper explains the weather prediction methods that fishermen used to avert danger before modern weather forecasting was developed. As described above, this paper first provides background information, such as the areas where traditional Hainan Island navigation techniques are used, along with a description of the vessels plying the waters.
