 note = {伝統的定位技術とはGPS や衛星通信などの精密機械がない時代に、海上における自分の船の位置と進む方向を把握するために使われた技術である。その技術は漁民の経験や知識と密接な関係を持っている。この伝統的定位技術と漁民の知識についての文献は存在しているが、その内容を理解するのは難しく、また、詳しく記録されていないのが実情である。伝統的定位技術と漁民の知識を解明するために、筆者は文献を詳細に解読し、当地でのフィールドワークを行った。
　本論文は中国海南省をフィールドワークの調査地としている。はじめに当地の定置網漁と流し網漁の作業内容と方式の整理を行った。次に、定置網漁における「流水」という非常に重要な潮流の知識を文献と漁民の話の両方に基づき分析した。漁民の知識は複雑なものである。自然状況や漁労の種類によって「流水」に対する対応を変えていることが推測できる。最後に、定置網の設置場所を探す方法と流し網の定位技術をまとめた。定置網漁と流し網漁から見た伝統的な定位技術は空、陸地、海面、海底などすべての空間を考慮して行われるものである。海南省の漁民は周りの状況を把握し、漁の種類によって、様々な定位技術を使っていることが分かった。, Traditional positioning techniques, which were used before the advent of precision instruments, GPS, and satellite communications for determining a marine vessel’s location and direction of travel, were linked closely with the knowledge and experience of fishers. Although literature exists on these techniques and knowledge, the contents are difficult to understand and recorded in little detail. This writer thoroughly deciphered the writings and conducted fieldwork in order to elucidate traditional positioning techniques and the knowledge of fishers who continue to use them. 　Fieldwork for this paper was carried out in the Hainan Province of China. First, the workflow and methods of set netting and drift netting were set in order. Next, knowledge about flow, a very important aspect of tidal currents in set netting, was analyzed based on both existing literature and interviews conducted with fishers. While the knowledge of fishers is complex, it may be inferred that fishers change their approach to flow according to criteria in nature and the type of fishing. Finally, the methods for finding locations for set nets and the techniques for positioning drift nets were organized. In the context of set netting and drift netting, traditional positioning techniques take into account all spatial factors including sky, land, sea surface, and seabed.
