The element concentrations of two rivers flowing into Sagami Bay were compared. In Hayakawa, which is a river flowing in a hot spring area, certain element concentrations in the river water were high in the upstream and middle basins. It was considered to be the effect of the hot spring. The sediments of the river upstream of the Kaname river were found to contain a large amount of organic components. As in the previous year, in the Kaname river, the concentration of all detected elements in the river water tended to increase as it went downstream.
