In generally, so-called \"foreigner\" have been classified by one\u0027s nationality. Intercultural education has been focusing into \"inter-action\" between so-called \"Japanese\" and others. The purposes of this paper are below: (1) overviewing \"intercultural education\" in Japan (2) considering the possibility of \"identity\" studies in intercultural education (3) showing a relationship between concept of \"self-process-cycle\" and intercultural education Intercultural education had been developing about \"Returnees (children returning from living overseas)\" in 80\u0027s-90\u0027s. After that, target of intercultural education was spreading over international students, ethnic minority students and children of migrant workers. \"Identity\" studies in intercultural education is important as microlevel-studies.
